General overview
Cigars, walls or jellyfish are so many strange terms that define the structure or appearance of these paths of frost and ice. It is in the coldest of winter that ice cascades are formed, between December and February … unfortunately due to global warming, their formations become more and more random, and you have to be on standby to grasp the niche that will allow us to climb these natural buildings safely.
The more often formed and much less steep “streaming” will allow you to gently initiate you to the practice of the waterfall because much less athletic than the large vertical walls often more technical and requiring more practice. There is something for all tastes and all levels of ice climbing, a sport that is democratizing.
