Greenland, a polar destination close to the Arctic Circle, embark on a legendary journey to discover calving glaciers in gigantic fjords.
Aboard our sailboat, we land on the ice floe to ski valleys and sometimes unexplored slopes in polar landscapes.
Halfway between expedition and exploration, we sail in search of beautiful slopes to ski on: wide open spaces and powder snow will be our objectives for this trip in the far north.

Level required


This is a ski touring trip, you must be able to ski in all snow and all terrain downhill on slopes at 35 ° / 40 ° max, carry your backpack from 8 to 10kg, and walk for 3 to 4 hours consecutively over 1000m of elevation.
On skis, being able to move at a rate of 300 to 400m / h on elevation differences between 400 and 600 meters. The slopes are of moderate level (red slope), adapted to the average level of the group. Participants are asked to have a mastery of piste skiing, to know how to evolve in all snow and more particularly in powder.

General overview

The evening of return on the boat, we will be able to observe whales, seals and sometimes even polar bears, as well as all the wild fauna of the Arctic.
Until mid-May, the Maniitsoq region (West coast of Greenland; 65 ° 30N, 53 ° W) is a great spot for ski touring and also freeride … This region is very well known for skiing (skiing hiking) because of its snow and slopes, you can practice both skiing engaged in corridors, as well as discovery skiing.
Thanks to the sailboat and a crew who know the place perfectly we move in the middle of the ocean by finding the best conditions for skiing, change of scenery and guaranteed adventure aboard a boat: 2 crew members and 6 people on board .

    Our stay begins in Maniitsoq, from here not embark on our sailboat to browse the Bay of Disko and Uummannaq in West Greenland, here we have a multitude of possibilities in the Fjords where we will certainly come across whales or d other cetaceans during our journey.

    – Hearty breakfast in the morning to get in shape
    -9h boarding for the objective of the day in ski spotted the day before or in the morning
    -15h / 16 return to the boat for a snack and warm up
    -4 p.m. to 6 p.m. fishing, whale watching and navigation to anchor not far from the objective for the next day
    -Night under the stars in the cabin

    This boat trip will delight adventure seekers, you can admire spectacular landscapes where glaciers calve in the fjords or in the ocean, wild marine animals and incredibly spectacular mountains.
